10 Great Herbalism and Plant Focused Blogs
If you have found your way to my blog, you probably are a plant lover. Whether you love gardening, eating plant based food, dying fabric with plant materials, having soap made from plant ingredients or you just love looking at plants, this post is for you my fellow plant lover!
You’ve seen my Plant Lover’s Booklist post, now this post is about my favorite online plant resources.
The Top Ten Blogs and Websites:
The Botanical Institute , an incredible resource for herbal plant knowledge. These people have really done their work. They have put together some excellent plant monograph and are constantly adding new medicinal plants as well.
Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, this site is one of the most in-depth resources out there. He has lectures and pdf books on all sorts of topics from history of herbal medicine to botany and materia medica for more plants that I ever knew existed!
The Herbal Academy’s blog is a an excellent resource for DIY skincare recipes, family herbal medicine recipes, plant monographs and even herbal cooking recipes. I’ve taken a few of their advanced herbal courses and can’t recommend them enough.
The Evolutionary Herbalist. This blog is excellent if you are thinking about becoming an herbalist. Sajah is exceptionally knowledgable about plants and how they interact with the human body.
Rebecca Desnos Blog. For those of you who love plants for dyeing wool and fabrics and making natural dies for soaps will love Rebecca’s blog. I have her book on Botanical Color at your Finger Tips as well. It’s fantastic.
indie herbalist . This is a new to me blog, that I’ve really been loving. She has so many informative posts about plants and book reviews and preparedness and gardening. You’ll find her site really fun to explore.
Grow Cook Forage Ferment Probably one of my all time favorite herbalist and plant lovers. She photos of plant are plant porn. Her recipes all included medicinal herbs. She has an amazing You Tube channel and if you are on Pinterest, her feed is beautiful too.
Mountain Rose Herb Blog Mountain Rose Herbs is one the primer sources for herbs, spices and barks. They have a blog too which is chock full of lovely recipes and seasonal herbal knowledge.
Herbal Jedi Ok, this isn’t technically a blog, it’s actually a vlog. But Yarrow has a zillion fantastic plant monograph videos. I found him years ago while trying to learn what to do with all the St. John’s Wort I was growing.
Eat The Weeds Here is another crazy knowledgable herbalist who has made videos and blog posts about plant that I had no idea could even be edible! This one will keep you learning for years to come!
