Lavender Chocolate Bark
Lavender, real lavender, that you grow and not from some lab is one of the most lovely smells in the world. Did you know lavender is edible too? It’s not just for aromatherapy, or soap or cosmetics. Lavender has wonderful bright floral taste that will have you coming back for more.
Do you know is best friends with lavender? Chocolate. That’s right! As an herbalist I’m always looking for ways to include more herbs in my cooking. One great way is to make chocolate barks. The recipe for this is so easy it will take me longer to write and post this blog post than it will for you to make it.
Here we go!
Lavender Chocolate Bark
Ingredients:
chocolate preferably dark (in the picture I used 1 cup of dark chocolate chips)
dried lavender buds
How to:
Melt the chocolate either in microwave at 30 second intervals stirring in between or over a double boiler. Once the chocolate is melted pour it out onto a piece of parchment paper and spread it out until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Too thin and the lavender won’t stick to it. Next sprinkle the lavender buds on liberally.
Allow to cool completely and harden.
Try not to eat it all in one day!
I make this for Christmas gifts. Sometimes, I go wild and add calendula petals or rose petals.
If you try this bark please share a picture and tell me what you think!
