Hello!

Welcome to the Nettlesome Life. I document my adventures in herbal soap making, growing food, foraging for wild edibles and making things by hand. Hope you have a nice stay!

My favorite childhood soap memory

My favorite childhood soap memory

When I was little my grandparents lived in an old farm house that was built in the 1950’s. My cousins and I would come for a visit and get quiet dusty running around the yard chasing chickens and looking at the goats.

One day we all decided to pile into the entirely pink bathroom and wash our hands. My grandmother always bought Irish spring soap. You know the mint green colored bar? I’m not even sure what scent that is. All I remember is that we proceeded to wash our hands and rinsed them. Then we decided it would be even more fun to wash our forearms too. So we soaped up until our arms looked like they were wrapped in bubbles. We thought is was absolutely hilarious and tried lathering up our faces, arms and legs. Eventually, my youngest cousin got her feet in on the action. She was fully dressed and looked like a bubble person. We all laughed until we were practically in tears.

I don’t remember if we got I trouble for getting the bathroom wet and soapy, but it’s something I’ll never for get! Do you have any soapy memories?
