Garden Update: November
Well, the summer got away with me and now fall is here and garden is tucked away for the winter. We’ve already had our first hard freeze subsequent snow storm. So all but the carrots, kale and lettuce in the high tunnel is gone to the compost heap or been harvested and processed.
Speaking of high tunnels, I now have a mini one! My garden partner helped me to build it and even constructed a beautiful door to allow easy access. The growing possibilities are so exciting. I now have a snow free space for late fall and winter growing. Lettuce, greens, radishes; and come spring we’ll be hardening off plants in here.
Garlic was planted before the snow and tucked away with a layer of leaves on top before the snow came.
The season was quite generous to us and we feel so blessed to have grown an incredible amount of produce to feed two families.
Now it’s time for inside projects like soap making and herbal remedies.
How is your garden doing? Is it under snow or do you still have warm weather?
